Server and Cloud Engineer

The role of Server and Cloud Engineer will have many responsibilities within the IT Department, ensuring that the Lincolnshire Police Force is maintaining high availability of systems, security standards and adhering to national security expectations, principles, policies, and procedures. The Server and Cloud Engineer will be responsible for the design, implementation, configuration and on-going management and maintenance of all server and storage technologies. Server and Cloud Engineers will work within a team of Server Specialists in a 3rd line capacity alongside other separate 3rd line support teams such as Network and Security Specialists to ensure that security standards are met and enforced where necessary and systems are inducted into a standardised monitoring platform with appropriate monitoring and alerting metrics. The position holder will work closely with our Information Management Unit and Security Specialists to ensure security best practices are being adhered to within the server estate and implement remediation plans off the back of IT Health check reports. The role will be responsible for maintaining service availability through the proactive use of various monitoring and alerting systems, such as SolarWinds.
