Location: Carlisle, Cumbria

Job Type: Full-Time, Permanent

Salary: £35,000 - £45,000 per annum (DOE) + Bonus + Overtime + £2,000 Sign-On Bonus

The Opportunity

An established and highly respected family-run automotive retailer is seeking an experienced Senior Vehicle Technician to join its busy Aftersales & Service department in Carlisle.

This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified technician looking to join a supportive, professional team with strong manufacturer backing, ongoing training opportunities, and genuine career progression.

Working Hours

• Monday to Friday: 8:15am - 5:00pm
• Every other Saturday morning (rota basis): 8:15am - 12:30pm

Key Responsibilities

• Perform diagnostics, servicing, maintenance, and repairs on a wide range of vehicles.
• Complete vehicle health checks and associated documentation accurately.
• Identify faults efficiently using diagnostic equipment and technical knowledge.
• Maintain high standards of workmanship and compliance with manufacturer and safety standards.
• Work closely with Service Advisors to ensure excellent customer communication and service.
• Support and mentor junior technicians where appropriate.
• Contribute positively to a collaborative workshop environment.

About You

The successful candidate will ideally have:

• Master or Senior Vehicle Technician level qualifications or equivalent experience.
• Extensive experience in a similar technician role, ideally within a franchised dealership environment.
• Strong diagnostic and fault-finding capabilities.
• The ability to work independently and use initiative.
• Excellent organisational and communication skills.
• A customer-focused approach.
• Good IT skills, including experience using workshop management systems and Microsoft Office.
• A full UK driving licence.
