Location: Carlisle, Cumbria
Job Type: Full-Time, Permanent
Salary: £35,000 - £45,000 per annum (DOE) + Bonus + Overtime + £2,000 Sign-On Bonus
The Opportunity
An established and highly respected family-run automotive retailer is seeking an experienced Senior Vehicle Technician to join its busy Aftersales & Service department in Carlisle.
This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified technician looking to join a supportive, professional team with strong manufacturer backing, ongoing training opportunities, and genuine career progression.
Working Hours
- Monday to Friday: 8:15am - 5:00pm
- Every other Saturday morning (rota basis): 8:15am - 12:30pm
Key Responsibilities
- Perform diagnostics, servicing, maintenance, and repairs on a wide range of vehicles.
- Complete vehicle health checks and associated documentation accurately.
- Identify faults efficiently using diagnostic equipment and technical knowledge.
- Maintain high standards of workmanship and compliance with manufacturer and safety standards.
- Work closely with Service Advisors to ensure excellent customer communication and service.
- Support and mentor junior technicians where appropriate.
- Contribute positively to a collaborative workshop environment.
About You
The successful candidate will ideally have:
- Master or Senior Vehicle Technician level qualifications or equivalent experience.
- Extensive experience in a similar technician role, ideally within a franchised dealership environment.
- Strong diagnostic and fault-finding capabilities.
- The ability to work independently and use initiative.
- Excellent organisational and communication skills.
- A customer-focused approach.
- Good IT skills, including experience using workshop management systems and Microsoft Office.
- A full UK driving licence.
