Senior Utility Surveyor

Our client, operating within the utility surveying sector, is currently seeking an experienced Senior Utility Surveyor to join their dynamic team in Birmingham. This role offers a fantastic opportunity to lead key utility mapping projects and contribute to major infrastructure developments.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and manage underground utility surveys across various sites using GPR and other detection methods
• Carry out PAS 128-compliant surveys, from planning through to data collection and reporting
• Interpret GPR data and integrate findings into comprehensive utility survey drawings
• Produce and review detailed AutoCAD drawings and survey deliverables
• Liaise with clients, contractors, and project stakeholders to ensure clarity of requirements and deliverables
• Provide technical leadership and support to junior surveyors and CAD technicians
• Ensure adherence to health and safety protocols and industry best practices
• Assist in developing and improving internal processes and methodologies

Job Requirements:

• Proven experience in utility surveying, including substantial field experience with GPR and EML
• Strong proficiency in AutoCAD and processing utility data into accurate drawings
• Solid understanding of PAS 128 standards and utility mapping classifications
• Ability to interpret GPR results and integrate findings with other utility detection methods
• Excellent communication skills and client-facing experience
• Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
• Valid UK driving licence (essential)
• CSCS card (preferred)

Desirable Qualifications:

• QCF Level 3 or 5 in Utility Mapping or Surveying (or equivalent)
• Experience with other survey software (e.g., Trimble, Leica, N4CE)
• SMSTS/SSSTS or other relevant H&S qualifications
