Salary: £45,000 - £60,000 (depending on experience)

About the Role
Carrington West are working with a leading multi-disciplinary consultancy to recruit a Senior or Principal Transport Planner to join their growing Development Planning team in either Bristol or Plymouth.
This is a fantastic opportunity for a transport planning professional looking to take the next step in their career, with a strong pipeline of residential, commercial, and mixed-use projects across the South West and beyond. The role involves supporting planning applications through the delivery of high-quality transport advice, technical assessments, and design input.
Key Responsibilities
·Lead or support the preparation of Transport Assessments, Statements, and Travel Plans for development planning applications.
·Contribute to transport strategies, access design and feasibility studies for new developments.
·Undertake junction and network modelling (e.g. ARCADY, PICADY, LINSIG).
·Liaise with clients, architects, local authorities, and project teams to progress schemes through planning.
·Support junior staff and contribute to mentoring and team development.
·Contribute to fee proposals, project planning, and client relationship management (particularly at Principal level).
·Identify new work opportunities and assist in business development (at Principal level).
Requirements
·A degree in Transport Planning, Geography, Civil Engineering or similar.
·Minimum of 4 years'' experience in transport or development planning consultancy.
·Experience in writing technical reports to support planning applications.
·Familiarity with design standards and guidance such as the NPPF, Manual for Streets, and DMRB.
·Proficient in transport modelling and analysis software such as ARCADY, PICADY, LINSIG, TRICS.
·Strong communication and report-writing skills.
·Chartered or working towards chartership (CIHT, TPS or similar) preferred.
