Senior Traffic Engineer

Key Responsibilities:

• Leading the development, design, consultation, and delivery of schemes to promote walking, cycling, and bus priority.
• Reviewing and implementing strategic cycle routes, School Streets, traffic signal works, and bus lanes.
• Working on measures to reduce traffic congestion and improve road safety.
• Collaborating with various stakeholders to ensure successful scheme delivery.
• Providing technical input and expertise in traffic and transport-related projects.
• Managing multiple projects and ensuring timely delivery within budget.
• Ensuring compliance with relevant legislation, statutory duties, and practices.

• Extensive experience in highways, traffic, and transport-related projects.
• Understanding of current planning, sustainability, and economic agendas influencing transport policy.
• Proven record of successfully delivering traffic and parking schemes.
• Strong knowledge of highways and transport legislation and statutory duties.
• Relevant professional qualification or significant experience in a similar role.
• Excellent project management and organisational skills.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work effectively within a team and independently.
