Senior track design engineer

Job Title: Senior Design EngineerWorking Hours: 7.5 hours per dayLocation: Derby (Hybrid / Site options: Raynesway, Canary Wharf, Prescott, Redhill)Role OverviewWe are seeking an experienced Senior Design Engineer (Permanent Way) to join an industry-leading Track Design Team. In this role, you will lead and develop detailed Permanent Way (P-Way) designs across a variety of rail upgrades, renewals, and enhancement projects. You will be responsible for taking designs from initial feasibility through to detailed completion, working on plain line, switches and crossings (SandC), track lowering, platform extensions, linespeed improvements, and clearance analysis.Key ResponsibilitiesDesign Delivery: Lead and execute P-Way design packages (Plain Line and SandC renewals) to budget, quality, and project schedules.Technical Output: Produce and review calculations, technical reports, specifications, and designer''s risk assessments in compliance with CDM 2015 and safety regulations.Integration and Liaison: Collaborate with multidisciplinary design teams, contractors, CREs, CEMs, and project stakeholders to ensure seamless P-Way integration.Team Leadership: Mentor, guide, and review the technical output of Design Engineers, CAD Technicians, and junior team members.Design Reviews: Attend formal inter-disciplinary design reviews (IDRs) and provide cost-effective solutions tailored to project specifications.Key RequirementsEssential:Education: Minimum HNC in Engineering with substantial ..... full job details .....
