The position can be based from either London or Derby and offers the opportunity to deliver Permanent Way designs across a range of UK rail upgrade, renewal and enhancement schemes. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and delivering track designs from feasibility through to detailed design. This will include plain line and switches and crossings renewals, track lowering, platform extensions, linespeed improvements, structural gauging and passing clearance analysis. Key responsibilities Undertaking Permanent Way design and ensuring track elements are fully integrated into multidisciplinary schemes Producing technical calculations, reports, specifications and design documentation Developing accurate plain line and SandC designs Producing designer s risk assessments and eliminating hazards through the design process Reviewing and checking technical work completed by other members of the design team Delivering design packages to the required programme, budget and quality standards Attending interdisciplinary design reviews and liaising with clients, contrac...
