Salary: -45,000 - -55,000

An established and growing planning consultancy is looking to appoint an experienced Senior Town Planner to join its Manchester-based team. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated planner to work across a varied portfolio of projects while developing their career within a supportive and collaborative consultancy.

The Role

As a Senior Town Planner, you will be involved in a diverse range of planning projects, working closely with clients, consultants, local authorities and other stakeholders. You will have the opportunity to take ownership of projects and play an important role in delivering high-quality planning advice.

Key Responsibilities

• Managing planning applications and appeals from inception through to completion.
• Providing professional planning advice to clients and project teams.
• Preparing and reviewing planning statements, reports and supporting documentation.
• Liaising with local planning authorities, consultants and other stakeholders.
• Undertaking planning research and policy assessments.
• Managing multiple projects and deadlines effectively.
• Supporting and mentoring junior members of the planning team.
• Assisting with business development and maintaining strong client relationships.

Requirements

• Degree in Town Planning, Planning, or a related discipline.
• Chartered status or working towards MRTPI is desirable.
• Previous experience within a planning consultancy or similar environment.
• Strong knowledge of the UK planning system and relevant planning policy.
• Experience managing planning applications and providing client-facing advice.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong organisational and project management abilities.
• A proactive approach with the ability to work independently and as part of a wider team.
