Carrington West are currently working with a highly regarded planning consultancy that is looking to appoint a Senior Town Planner to join its growing Manchester team. This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious planner to take on greater responsibility, work on a diverse portfolio of projects and progress their career within an established and supportive business.
 
As a Senior Town Planner, you will play a key role in delivering planning advice and managing a varied caseload across a range of development sectors.
 
Your responsibilities will include:
·Managing and progressing a varied portfolio of planning projects.
·Preparing and submitting planning applications and appeals.
·Providing strategic planning advice to clients.
·Undertaking planning research and policy assessments.
·Liaising with local planning authorities, clients, consultants and other stakeholders.
·Supporting the preparation of planning strategies for complex development proposals.
·Managing project deadlines, budgets and client expectations.
·Supporting and mentoring junior members of the planning team.
·Contributing to business development and maintaining strong client relationships.
 
We are looking for an experienced planner who is commercially aware, client-focused and keen to take the next step in their career.
 
You will ideally have:
·A relevant degree in Town Planning or a related discipline.
·MRTPI accreditation or be working towards chartership.
·Previous experience within a planning consultancy, developer or local authority environment.
·Strong knowledge of the UK planning system and relevant planning policy.
·Experience managing planning applications and projects from inception through to determination.
·Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
·Strong organisational and time-management abilities.
·The confidence to communicate effectively with clients and planning authorities.
·A proactive approach and genuine ambition to progress.
