Senior Theatre Practitioner

Location: Crowborough, East Sussex
Employment Type: Full-time

A leading private healthcare provider is seeking an experienced Senior Theatre Practitioner to join their established theatre team in Crowborough.

Working closely with the Theatre Manager, Clinical Leads and a multidisciplinary team, you will help deliver high standards of patient care while supporting the safe, efficient and effective running of the theatre department.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the day-to-day management of the theatre department, including workload, staffing and resources.
  • Provide senior clinical leadership and take responsibility for the department in the absence of the Theatre Manager.
  • Deliver high-quality, evidence-based patient care throughout the perioperative journey.
  • Supervise, mentor and support junior staff, contributing to their ongoing development and training.
  • Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams to ensure excellent patient care and service delivery.
  • Lead or support the team during emergency situations and contribute to incident and complaint management.
  • Promote best practice, professional standards and a positive, supportive working environment.
  • Maintain professional competence, mandatory training and knowledge of current perioperative practice.

About You

The successful candidate will be an experienced and passionate theatre professional with strong clinical and communication skills.

You will have:

  • NMC or HCPC registration with a Registered Nurse or Level 3 ODP qualification.
  • Previous experience as a Theatre Practitioner, ideally within an orthopaedic theatre environment.
  • Strong perioperative knowledge with experience supporting or mentoring colleagues.
  • Excellent communication, leadership and decision-making skills.
  • A proactive approach to professional development and evidence-based practice.
  • A compassionate, patient-focused approach and the ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
