Senior Test Engineer

On behalf of DWP, we are looking for a Senior Test Engineer for a 12 month (Inside IR35) contract based Hybrid in Birmingham, Blackpool, Leeds, Manchester, Newcastle or Sheffield. Core Purpose As a Senior Test Engineer, you will be responsible for the testing of applications which make up citizen services, with a particular focus on automation and performance testing. This includes defining the appropriate depth and breadth of testing using a risk-based approach, ensuring services are scalable, stable, robust and reliable under expected and peak demand. You will work with other teams within the Software Development Lifecycle to ensure that technical solutions are aligned and meet both functional and non-functional requirements. As a Senior Test Engineer, your main responsibilities will be to:. Build and maintain automated test solutions using Playwright.. Deliver performance and load testing using K6 and similar tools.. Support testing of event driven architectures and distributed systems.. Integrate automated test suites into GitLab CI/CD pipelines.. Identify and resolve defects, performance issues and system bottlenecks.. Develop reusable automation components and testing utilities..
