Senior Technical Staff Engineer Design

Job Title: Senior Technical Staff Engineer - SoC Development

The successful candidate will join the microcontroller (MCU) product development group at our Cambridge Design Centre, working on developing our broad portfolio of next-generation scalable MCUs, including Automotive, Connectivity and Communication, Motor Control, Functional Safety, Security, Touch, and General Purpose.This role involves technical leadership of SoC projects, working with architects during the concept phase, developing microarchitecture specifications, planning project timelines, and leading SoC design activities. You will collaborate with experienced engineers and adopt Microchip''s engineering practices, contributing to a team where your efforts make a difference.Key Responsibilities:

Lead SoC design projects from concept to volume production.Design, integrate, and verify IP blocks.Perform design checking, synthesis, static timing analysis, and power analysis.Oversee SoC level design and verification.Coordinate with DFT, design implementation, and physical design teams.Continuously improve methodologies across the SoC development cycle.Plan projects, manage timelines, deliverables, and communicate progress to stakeholders.Qualifications:

Master''s Degree in Electronic Engineering or equivalent.15+ years of experience in digital/mixed-signal SoC design.Deep understanding of SoC development principles.Expertise in RTL design, verification, DFT, and physical design.Proficiency with synthesis tools and timing analysis.Experience with IP and SoC verification (UVM, SV, etc.).Strong scripting skills in Python.Proven leadership skills and ability to drive project execution.Team-oriented, proactive, clear communicator, and highly organized.We welcome candidates who can grow into the role and contribute to our success.About Microchip:
