Senior Technical Manager (Operations)

Harris Hill is recruiting for a leading higher education and research organisation seeking an experienced Senior Technical Manager (Operations) to lead technical services across engineering and research facilities. Location: London (predominately office-based) Salary: £53,947 - £63,350 per annum (including London Allowance) This role will provide strategic and operational leadership for laboratories, workshops and technical teams, ensuring safe, efficient and high-quality support for teaching, research and innovation. You will work closely with academic and professional services colleagues to improve services, develop people and support future growth. Key responsibilities include: Leading and managing technical teams across research, education and operational functions. Overseeing laboratory and workshop facilities to ensure effective technical support. Managing resources, budgets, procurement and operational planning. Developing service improvements, policies and processes. Supporting workforce and facilities planning. Ensuring high standards of health and safety, compliance and risk management. Building strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders. About you You will be an experienced technical leader with a background in managing technical services within an engineering, scientific or similar environment.
