Senior Teacher (with leadership)

If you are a SEND specialist teacher or senior leader (Assistant Headteacher) who is available immediately, we would be keen to speak with you.

We are currently seeking to represent an experienced SEND specialist to provide temporary support for a site in Westbury, Wiltshire, (BA13). If you are a SEND specialist who is seeking a step onto the leadership ladder, this role could be for you.

This role is offered initially as a temporary, full-time teaching opportunity, you will have the opportunity to apply on a more permanent basis later in the academic year. Ideally you will be experienced with working alongside pupils, teaching within small class groups. Typically, the site caters for pupils aged 7-17 with SEND requirements such as SEMH and class sizes are small (6 per group). Curriculum mapping is in place, and the school offer an abundance of resources to assist with planning. Due to future growth within the school, there is the opportunity to have additional leadership responsibilities geared towards your strengths. An informal meeting will be offered with the senior leadership team as a starting point for you to gain a full understanding of the school and their needs.

This site is part of a national trust who are focussed on supporting children with complex behaviours and needs. Their pupils have experienced trauma and adverse childhood experiences, and they work closely with them to develop self-belief to become effective learners. A relevant UK based teaching qualification.

Substantial experience working within a UK based SEND specialist education setting.

All required documents for safer recruitment processing including, but not limited to a valid right to work proof and a valid Enhanced DBS.

Once shortlisted, a one-to-one interview will be scheduled with your dedicated consultant to discuss your experience and personal requirements.

Proposed start date: September 2026

Salary: £190.37 to £279.08 per day plus a TLR (paid to scale)
