Senior Systems Accountant

Connect2Luton are excited to recruit a Senior Systems Accountant on behalf of Luton Borough Council.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide expert support and troubleshooting for financial systems
• Work closely with IT to resolve system-related issues
• Build and maintain reports using tools such as Business Objects, Crystal Reports, or similar
• Support ongoing system improvements and operational continuity
• Assist with handover to the incoming permanent postholder

About You:

• Proven experience as a Systems Accountant, ideally in the public sector
• Strong background working with financial systems (experience with Civica Financials is highly desirable, but not essential)
• Demonstrable experience in report building and data analysis
• Advanced VBA skills
• Working knowledge of SQL and financial system infrastructure, with the ability to engage confidently with IT teams
• A proactive self-starter with strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
