The Role
As a Senior Sustainability Consultant, you''ll lead the delivery of environmental assessment and certification projects while acting as a trusted sustainability advisor to clients, design teams and project stakeholders.
You''ll manage your own portfolio of projects across multiple sectors, ensuring assessments are delivered on time, within budget and to the highest technical standard. Working closely with experienced sustainability professionals, you''ll help shape project strategies, review technical outputs and contribute to the continued development of the consultancy''s sustainability services.
Alongside project delivery, you''ll mentor junior consultants, support quality assurance processes and play an active role in developing best practice across the team. You''ll also have opportunities to contribute towards business development, client engagement and the growth of new sustainability services.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the delivery of BREEAM, BREEAM International and WELL assessments from concept through to certification.
- Deliver additional assessment schemes including BREEAM Domestic, Fitwel and BREEAM Infrastructure where required.
- Act as the lead sustainability consultant across multidisciplinary design teams.
- Coordinate sustainability strategies throughout the design and construction process.
- Provide technical advice on environmental certification and sustainable building design.
- Advise clients on Net Zero Carbon, ESG objectives, climate resilience and sustainable development.
- Produce high-quality technical reports, assessments and project documentation.
- Manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining programme and budget requirements.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, architects, contractors and project teams.
- Support the development of technical standards, templates and internal quality procedures.
- Mentor, supervise and support the development of junior sustainability consultants.
- Assist with fee proposals, bids and business development activities.
- Deliver workshops and presentations to clients and project teams where required.
- Work collaboratively with specialists in building performance, wellbeing, materials and environmental design.
