Senior Support Worker – Children’s Residential Home (EBD)
Location: Darwen
Salary: £14.50 - £16.50
Contract: Full-time, Permanent

We are currently recruiting on behalf of our client, a well-established provider of residential childcare, for a Senior Support Worker to join their team in a 4-bed children’s home supporting young people with emotional and behavioural difficulties (EBD).

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Residential Childcare Worker seeking to step up into a senior role, or for an existing Senior Support Worker looking for a fresh challenge within a supportive organisation.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide high-quality care and support to children and young people in line with their individual care plans.
• Lead, mentor, and motivate a team of residential support workers to ensure the delivery of consistent, child-centred care.
• Support the management team with rota planning, supervisions, and staff development.
• Ensure compliance with safeguarding policies, regulatory standards, and Ofsted requirements.
• Promote independence, resilience, and positive outcomes for young people through structured routines and meaningful activities.
• Act as a positive role model, maintaining professional boundaries at all times.

Candidate Requirements:

• Minimum of NVQ Level 3 in Residential Childcare (or equivalent).
• Experience working within a children’s residential setting (EBD experience desirable).
• Strong leadership and communication skills with the ability to manage and support a team.
• A flexible approach to shift work, including evenings, weekends, and sleep-ins.
• A genuine passion for improving the lives of children and young people.
