Are you an experienced Support Worker looking for the next step in your career?
We are looking for a compassionate and confident Senior Support Worker to join a specialist complex care team in Exeter. This is a fantastic opportunity to combine hands-on support with leadership responsibilities, helping to deliver outstanding, person-centred care while supporting and guiding a small team.
You will play a key role in ensuring high standards of care, maintaining accurate records, supporting colleagues, coordinating care delivery and helping individuals achieve the best possible quality of life.
Working Pattern
This role consists of:
2 x 12-hour care shifts per week providing hands-on support
1 x 12-hour administration shift per week dedicated to care planning, quality monitoring and team leadership
36 hours per week in total
Every other weekend working required
The Role
Care Delivery
Deliver high-quality, person-centred support tailored to complex care needs
Promote independence, dignity, choice and wellbeing
Follow care plans, risk assessments and support strategies
Respond effectively to changing needs and circumstances
Team Leadership
Provide day-to-day leadership and guidance to a small care team
Support colleagues to deliver safe, consistent and effective care
Promote best practice and high standards during every shift
Act as a positive role model and mentor
Support the induction and ongoing development of care staff
Care Coordination
Maintain accurate and up-to-date care records
Review and update care plans as required
Ensure staff have the information they need to provide safe care
Liaise with management, families and healthcare professionals
Support quality assurance and compliance processes
Assist with the onboarding of new clients, helping to ensure a smooth, safe and positive transition into our services
Support care assessments, care planning and service setup activities to enable successful mobilisation of new care packages
Work alongside internal teams to ensure new care packages are implemented effectively and deliver positive outcomes from day one
Essential Requirements
NVQ Level 3 in Health & Social Care or equivalent
Previous experience supporting individuals with complex care needs
Experience supervising or leading a care team
Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle
Right to work in the UK
