We are seeking experienced Senior Structural Engineer to join our team in Glasgow. The successful candidate will have the chance to work in one of the UK’s leading private Engineering Consultancies, providing integrated solutions for a range of public and private clients.RESPONSIBILITIESTechnical Lead for a diverse range of projects, ensuring excellence in all deliverables.Manage UK-based projects in compliance with UK Building Regulations and relevant standards across various sectors. Including industrial, residential, retail, commercial and healthcare.Foster lasting relationships by collaborating with and leading design team members to create coordinated design solutions that meet client objectives.Work alongside multidisciplinary teams and clients to ensure successful project delivery within established timelines and budgets enhancing our reputation for excellence.Conduct structural engineering assessments and inspections of new and existing properties, utilizing steel, concrete, masonry and timber whilst applying pure thought to solve complex challenges.Perform analysis and design using software packages such as Tekla Structural Designer and Tedds, ensuring the highest quality in consistency in technical outputs (drawings, reports, etc).Prepare high-quality reports, including structural surveys that reflect our commitment to excellence and clarity.Promote internal progression by providing mentorship and support to junior engineers and team members, contributing to their continuous development.Represent Fairhurst at external networking and social events, strengthening relationships within the industry.Provide technical expertise and mentorship to junior engineers and team members.QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCEBachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Civil or Structural EngineeringChartered or working towards Chartered status (MICE or MIStructE).Diverse experience across various construction and building types.Strong report writing, communication and numerical skills are essential.Previous experience in a UK ConsultancyAttention to detail with the capability to manage multiple projects of varying sizes.Excellent teamwork and communication skills.Familiarity with Eurocodes and relevant design codes and standards.Proficiency in structural analysis design and software essentialDemonstrated project management and leadership skills.Possession of a full clean UK driving licenseWHAT WE OFFER YOUCompetitive salary and excellent flexible benefits packageComprehensive training opportunities and reimbursement of professional feesContributory pension, personal health care plan and life insuranceInterest-free travel loan scheme33 days annual leave (inclusive of Public Holidays)Annual leave purchase and buy-back schemeBonus Schemes including loyalty bonus and qualifications awardAdditional benefits may vary between officesYou can learn more about our staff benefits hereETHOSWe, at Fairhurst, know that progress within the industry is all about people.
