I’m working with a fantastic structural engineering consultancy based in Shoreditch that’s looking to bring a Senior Structural Engineer into its growing team.

This is a great opportunity to join a well-established, forward-thinking practice with a brilliant office environment, a genuinely sociable team and an exciting pipeline of projects across London.

The workload is particularly strong in major retrofit and refurbishment projects, spanning both commercial and residential sectors, alongside selected new-build schemes. If you enjoy technically challenging projects, collaborative design and finding clever engineering solutions to existing buildings, this could be a really good move.

The role

• Take a leading role in the design and delivery of large-scale retrofit and refurbishment projects across London.
• Work across commercial and residential developments, with some new-build projects in the mix.
• Lead structural design, analysis and technical delivery from concept through to construction.
• Collaborate closely with architects, contractors and other design professionals to develop practical, buildable solutions.
• Support and mentor junior engineers, helping to develop the wider team.
• Take ownership of project packages, coordinate deliverables and contribute to successful project outcomes.

What they’re looking for

• A strong background in structural engineering, ideally within a UK consultancy environment.
• Experience delivering refurbishment, retrofit or alteration projects, ideally involving existing buildings.
• A solid technical understanding of structural design and relevant UK design standards.
• Confidence coordinating projects and communicating with clients and the wider design team.
• A proactive, collaborative approach and the ability to support more junior members of the team.
• Chartered status, or working towards chartership, would be advantageous.
