Senior Structural Engineer

I'm currently working with a well-established structural engineering consultancy based in Hemel Hempstead that is looking to appoint a Structural Engineer to join its growing team.

With a strong reputation across the residential sector, the business delivers a broad range of projects including bespoke residential properties, large-scale housing developments, apartment schemes, and mixed-use developments for a loyal and expanding client base. The Role

As a Structural Engineer, you'll be involved in the design and delivery of a variety of projects from concept through to completion, working closely with developers, architects, contractors, and private clients to provide practical and efficient engineering solutions.

Key responsibilities include:

• Producing structural calculations, reports, and technical drawings
• Assisting with the design and delivery of residential and mixed-use projects
• Attending client and design team meetings
• Coordinating with architects, contractors, and external consultants
• Working alongside senior engineers on larger schemes
• Supporting junior technicians where appropriate
• Contributing to project delivery across multiple schemes

Project Portfolio

You'll gain exposure to a variety of schemes including:

• Residential developments
• Housing and apartment schemes
• High-end private residential projects
• Extensions and refurbishments
• Mixed-use developments
• Occasional commercial and education projects

Requirements

• 2-7 years' experience within a UK structural engineering consultancy
• Strong technical design experience across steel, concrete, timber, and masonry
• Experience working on residential-led projects
• Good communication and organisational skills
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
• Ambitious and motivated to progress your career
• Working towards Chartership, or with aspirations to become Chartered
