Senior Structural Engineer
Our client is an established structural engineering consultancy with more than a decade of experience delivering a varied portfolio of high-quality building projects. Their work includes high-end residential developments, commercial and mixed-use buildings, education and community schemes, listed buildings, complex refurbishments, extensions and bespoke architectural structures. The practice offers a relaxed, collaborative culture where engineers remain closely involved from early concept through to construction.
Roles / Responsibilities
Lead the structural design and delivery of building projects from concept through to construction.
Produce and review structural calculations, design packages, technical reports and specifications.
Design structural elements in steel, reinforced concrete, timber and masonry.
Manage project programmes, technical outputs and day-to-day client communication.
Coordinate closely with architects, contractors and wider multidisciplinary design teams.
Attend design meetings, structural surveys and site inspections.
Provide technical guidance, mentoring and support to junior engineers.
Contribute to the development of client relationships and the continued growth of the consultancy.
Qualifications
Approximately 5-8 years'' UK structural engineering consultancy experience.
Degree qualified in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering or a closely related discipline.
Proven experience independently delivering building structures projects.
Strong technical capability across steel, reinforced concrete, timber and masonry design.
Good working knowledge of Eurocodes and relevant British Standards.
Confident client-facing, project management and communication skills.
Experience mentoring or reviewing the work of junior engineers.
Chartered status with MIStructE or MICE is highly desirable; candidates progressing well towards Chartership will also be considered.
Experience with software such as Tekla Structural Designer, Tekla Tedds, MasterSeries, AutoCAD, Revit, ETABS or Robot would be advantageous.
