This one is a little different.I''m working with a major multidisciplinary Engineering Consultancy that is looking to strengthen its London Structures team with a Senior Structural Engineer, with much of the workload centred around secure, technically demanding projects for the MOD, Ministry of Justice and wider public-sector estate. It means the work tends to be considerably more involved than simply designing another commercial office or residential scheme.Projects can include new-build facilities, upgrades and extensions to existing assets, refurbishment, structural assessment and investigation, strengthening works and the adaptation of buildings where security, resilience, buildability and the constraints of an operational site all need to be considered alongside the structural design itself.The Consultancy has a long-established presence across defence, government and critical infrastructure, so you''ll be joining a team with an existing workload rather than being brought in to create one from scratch.What will you actually be doing? As a Senior Structural Engineer, you''ll take projects and packages from initial assessment and feasibility through to detailed design and construction support. You''ll be involved in structural analysis and design across steel, reinforced concrete, masonry and timber, but the role goes considerably further than calculations alone.
