Senior Stores Person

Firmin Recruit are delighted to be recruiting on behalf of our established UK based manufacturing client.- Our client has been in business for more than seventy years and are an established and busy manufacturing company who manufacture specialist units for research and clinical sectors worldwide..-

Due to business demands we are recruiting for an experienced Senior Stores Person to join their site in Sidcup.- The successful candidate will provide day-day leadership for goods-in, stores and despatch function.

• Working hours are Monday - Thursday 9am till 5pm and Friday 8am - 2pm

The Role:

• To assist with a variety of day-to-day activities relating to goods receiving, dispatch of spares and finished goods.
• Prioritise department tasks and activities
• Receive and check deliveries, ensuring correct quantities and paperwork
• Prepare and despatch parts and finished goods to customers and service teams
• Manage stock levels and maintain accurate records, including regular stock checks
• Pick parts and materials according to Bills of Materials for production
• Support Quality Manager and senior management during ISO audits
• Work with the Production Manager to prioritise daily tasks and manage shortages
• Communicate with Service and Sales teams to organise despatch of goods
• Handle returns or rejected parts and liaise with the Quality Manager
• Keep all records and systems up to date, including stock logs and registers
• Ensure the stores area is clean, tidy, and organised
• Use of forklift when necessary

Suitable Candidate:

• Previous stores experience preferable within a manufacturing environment
• Strong communication skills including both written & verbal
• Good computer skills including Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and MRP stock management systems,- the current system being used is Omnis)
• Electric Forklift truck experience with current forklift license
• Suitable candidates must live within a commutable distance of the Sidcup area and full UK Driving Licence (preferred).
• Our client is looking for someone with a can-do attitude who can work well as part of a team and on their own.
