Senior Statistician

Job Title: Senior Statistician Location: Remote Contract Duration: 6 Months Daily Rate: £600/day (Umbrella Maximum) IR35 Status: Inside ESSENTIAL: ecological statistical knowledge The programme is looking to bring in a Senior Statistician role to help unlock the value of the long-term data sets collected by undertaking rigorous, iterative analysis. It will support development of a revised monitoring design, a key 2026/27 priority, ensuring that future data collection is efficient, targeted, and statistically robust. About The Candidate (specialist skills and requirements): Key Tasks Provide statistical leadership for the programme, undertaking complex statistical analysis to help meet its primary objectives. Unlock the value of long-term datasets by thorough rigorous, iterative analysis. Analysis of complex, multi-pressure ecological datasets, required to identify causal drivers of ecosystem change. Develop a revised monitoring design to reduce redundancy and increase statistical power, improving efficiency and ensuring that future data collection is efficient, targeted, and statistically robust. Revise the monitoring design to retain as much of the current methodology as possible, to facilitate maximum use of existing data. Consult evidence users and partners including Natural England, Defra, research and academic institutions to consider their needs during development of the new survey design.
