Senior Statistician

On behalf of DEFRA, we are looking for a Senior Statistician (Inside IR35) for a 6 Month contract based Remotely. As a Senior Statistician, your main responsibilities will be:. Provide statistical leadership for the LTEC programme, undertaking complex statistical analysis to help meet its primary objectives.. Unlock the value of long-term datasets by thorough rigorous, iterative analysis.. Analysis of complex, multi-pressure ecological datasets, required to identify causal drivers of ecosystem change.. Develop a revised monitoring design to reduce redundancy and increase statistical power, improving efficiency and ensuring that future data collection is efficient, targeted, and statistically robust.. Revise the monitoring design to retain as much of the current methodology as possible, to facilitate maximum use of existing data.. Consult LTEC evidence users and partners -including Natural England, Defra, research and academic institutions-to consider their needs during development of the new survey design. Essential:. Experience of working in statistical and/or ecological or environmental fields, educated to degree level in a relevant subject or ability to demonstrate equivalent experience. A good understanding of experimental/survey design and related statistical analyses; ideally experience in ecological statistics.
