      <description>Location: Sheffield | Salary: Negotiable | Type: Contract | Java Developer - SHEFFIELD, UK   Location:  Sheffield (2 days per week onsite)   Contract:  Contract  Role Overview Our banking clients building a platform that enables control owners and engineering teams to manage and monitor compliance with software development standards and controls. The successful candidate will work on modern Java-based applications and APIs within a microservices architecture, helping deliver scalable and resilient solutions across several strategic applications.  Key Responsibilities  Design, develop and maintain Java-based backend services and APIs.  Build and enhance microservices using modern engineering practices.  Collaborate with developers, testers and stakeholders to deliver new features.  Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues across the application estate.  Contribute to architecture discussions and technical design decisions.  Participate in code reviews and promote engineering best practices.  Work within an Agile environment using CI/CD principles and tooling.  Support the continuous improvement of platform reliability, scalability and performance.
