Senior Software Engineer - Python / Docker

Location: Bristol or Southampton (20% onsite) Duration: 6 month contract Rate: 61.90ph LTD (Outside IR35) Role details:Our client, a prominent player in the Defence and Security sector, is seeking a Senior Software Engineer with expertise in Python, Docker, and Cyber Security for a 6-month contract based in Bristol or Southampton. The role involves a hybrid working model with approximately 20% onsite presence. Key Responsibilities:Take ownership of specific software work packages, including low-level planning, delivery, and reporting, with the ability to work independently and autonomously.Possess a strong understanding of microservice software architecture.Design, implement, document, and test software modules and components.Peer review code, application design, and test results to ensure compliance with standards and governance.Troubleshoot complex issues and provide technical guidance to engineers.Mentor and support junior developers, sharing knowledge and best practices.Contribute to design reviews, risk assessments, and stakeholder reporting.Build production-grade software components with integration into wider systems in mind, collaborating with systems, test, and DevOps teams.Suggest and drive improvements in development processes, tools, and practices.Clearly communicate updates, risks, and review points upwards.Job Requirements:Strong technical ability with proven experience in delivering software components and modules.Ability to work confidently, strategically, ..... full job details .....
