Senior Software Engineer - Newcastle - £65,000 to £90,000 per year DOE - On-site FryerMiles are delighted to be working with a rapidly growing technical consultancy who are looking to recruit multiple Software Engineers to join their Defence team in Newcastle. You''ll design and build applications used across complex Defence and National Security programmes, working across the full development lifecycle from Proof of Concept through to production. Key Responsibilities Design, build and maintain applications across the full stack. Develop backend services, APIs, databases and user interfaces. Deploy applications across cloud and on-premise environments. Build high-quality, secure and maintainable software. Work with technical teams and Defence customers to solve complex problems. Essential Skills and Experience Strong programming skills in C#/.NET, Java or Python. Experience developing production web applications. SQL databases, web frameworks and RESTful APIs. Front-end development using React and TypeScript. Cloud experience with Azure and/or AWS. Strong software engineering fundamentals and development best practices. First-class or 2:1 degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Physics, Mathematics or a related discipline from a Russell Group university. Desirable Experience WebSockets, SignalR or similar real-time technologies. AI-assisted software development tools. Defence or National Security experience.
