Are you an experienced Social Worker with a passion for safeguarding adolescents and improving outcomes for vulnerable young people? The London Borough of Barking and Dagenham is looking for a dedicated Senior Social Worker - Homelessness Specialist to join our Assessment Service, supporting 16- and 17-year-old''s presenting as homeless or at risk of homelessness. This is a specialist role where you''ll lead complex assessments, manage risk, and ensure young people receive the protection, stability, and opportunities they deserve. Working at the intersection of children''s social care, housing, education, health, and partner agencies, you''ll play a pivotal role in delivering timely, child-centred interventions that make a genuine impact. What you''ll be doing: Leading statutory assessments for 16- and 17-year-old''s presenting as homeless. Undertaking complex safeguarding assessments and developing effective plans that promote safety and permanence. Working collaboratively with Housing, Education, Health, Youth Justice and partner agencies to achieve the best outcomes. Applying trauma-informed, relationship-based practice to support vulnerable adolescents.
