A growing housing developer is seeking a Senior Site Manager to join their award-winning region. This developer is recognised for its high-quality standards and strong pipeline of work, delivering new homes that meet exacting customer expectations.
Job DescriptionThe Senior Site Manager is responsible for overseeing all site operations to deliver new homes safely, on time and to the highest quality standards. This role requires managing resources, coordinating contractors, and ensuring compliance with health and safety legislation. The post holder leads the site team, drives continuous improvement, and maintains strong relationships with stakeholders.
Key Duties and Responsibilities- Plan, organise and supervise the day-to-day site activities to meet project milestones and budgets.
- Manage and monitor subcontractors and suppliers, ensuring adherence to contractual requirements and company standards.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and company policies, leading regular site inspections and risk assessments.
- Maintain effective communication with clients, design teams, and internal departments to resolve issues promptly.
- Oversee quality control processes to ensure work meets specified standards and customer expectations.
- Prepare and submit accurate progress reports, site diaries, and other documentation as required.
- Lead and motivate site teams, fostering a positive working environment and promoting best practises.
- Manage site logistics including materials, plant, and workforce to optimise efficiency.
- Identify and implement opportunities for cost savings and operational improvements.
- Ensure environmental considerations are incorporated into site activities in line with company policies.
- Site Management Safety Training Scheme (SMSTS) certificate
- Construction Skills Certification Scheme (CSCS) card or equivalent
- First Aid at Work qualification
- National Vocational Qualification (NVQ) Level 6 in Construction Site Management or equivalent
- Proven experience as a Site Manager within the house building sector, preferably with new homes developments
- Demonstrable track record of successfully delivering large-scale residential construction projects
- Strong understanding of construction methods, materials, and regulations
- Experience managing multi-disciplinary teams and subcontractors on site
- Full valid driving licence
- Excellent organisational and planning skills
- Strong communication and leadership abilities
- Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications
- Sound knowledge of health and safety legislation and best practises
- Competent in site management software and Microsoft Office applications
- Primarily site-based role with occasional office attendance
- Full-time hours with flexibility to meet project demands, including occasional early starts or late finishes
- Work involves exposure to varying weather conditions and site environments
- Use of personal protective equipment is mandatory in line with site rules
