Key Responsibilities of a Site Manager
- Building strong, effective relationships with clients and their advisors to ensure smooth project delivery.
- Championing the clients values and policies across sustainability, health & safety, quality, environment, and team development.
- Applying and maintaining compliance with the company''s Business Management System.
- Taking a proactive approach to identifying and resolving issues before they escalate.
- Driving continuous improvement initiatives across the project lifecycle.
- Leading and mentoring junior team members, including conducting annual appraisals and supporting their development.
- Ensuring all works meet contract specifications and drawings, with accurate records maintained to demonstrate compliance.
- Carrying out any other duties relevant to the role.
Requirements of a Site Manager
- Solid technical knowledge and experience working with main contractors.
- A degree (or equivalent) in a relevant construction discipline - essential.
- Completion of Safety Level 1 and SMSTS courses.
- Valid CSCS card.
- Proven experience as a Site Manager with a main contractor - essential.
- Background as a Graduate or Trainee Site Engineer.
- Strong commercial and financial awareness.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Familiarity with various contract types, including NEC and JCT.
- Ideally, experience working in secure environments (e.g. prisons), with existing or eligible security clearance.
