Senior Site Engineer

An established and highly respected main contractor is looking to appoint an experienced Senior Site Engineer to join its growing North West team.

This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious engineer who wants to take on greater responsibility and have a secure pipeline of work. Working on projects across the commercial, industrial and leisure sectors, you''ll play a key role in both the technical delivery and day-to-day management of schemes.

The Role

Reporting to the Project Manager, you''ll be responsible for the engineering function on site while also taking ownership of key management responsibilities.

This role will suit someone who enjoys being involved in the wider delivery of projects and is keen to develop beyond a traditional Site Engineer position.

Key Responsibilities

• Carry out setting out and site engineering duties.
• Produce and check engineering calculations.
• Ensure works are delivered accurately and in accordance with design specifications.
• Manage and coordinate civil engineering subcontractors.
• Oversee design information, resolve technical queries and liaise with external design consultants.
• Assist with planning and sequencing works to ensure projects remain on programme.
• Monitor quality standards and ensure compliance with health and safety requirements.
• Work closely with the Project Manager, taking on increasing management responsibilities as projects progress.

About You

To be considered, you''ll have:

• Experience working as a Site Engineer or Senior Site Engineer for a main contractor.
• Strong setting out and engineering calculation skills.
• Experience coordinating civil engineering works and subcontractors.
• The confidence to liaise with consultants, designers and the wider project team.
• Excellent communication and organisational skills.
• A proactive approach with the ambition to progress into a Project Management role.

Desirable

• Degree or HNC/HND in Civil Engineering or a construction-related discipline.
• CSCS Card.
• SMSTS or SSSTS would be advantageous.
