As the band 7 Lead in Private Care Pre Assessment Clinic you will be responsible for ensuring the Private care Pre-assessment department operates smoothly on a day-to-day basis, engaging with other relevant departments as required so that our service needs are met through the delivery of high quality care.
You will be required to support the Management team, Director of Clinical Services and Operations Manager in the planning and implementation of issues arising from the Trust Board Strategies.
We are looking for a motivated and enthusiastic Registered Band 7 Nurse to join our team. This post will play a crucial role in ensuring quality and safe care is maintained, whilst moving forward to meet the evolving needs of the service and population we serve.
ResponsibilitiesThe main duties of the role are to ensure the safe running of the Private Care Pre admission / outpatient department day to day, ensuring the patients receive a high standard of care.
Have 24-hour responsibility for the provision of clinical care and standards in the department
Responsible for co-coordinating and make effective use of staff, supervise staff and ensure training is maintained
Ensure adequate staffing levels and provide clinical leadership for staff
Act as a role model and leader to nursing staff
Ensure cost effective use of resources

Job responsibilitiesEnsure that the department operates smoothly on a day-to-day basis, engaging with other relevant departments as required. Deputise for the Lead Nurse as necessary. Support the Lead Nurse and the Senior Nursing and Operations Manager in planning and implementing issues arising from the Trust Board Strategies.
Supervise the maintenance of equipment and ordering of supplies, ensuring all equipment complies with national standards. Participate in budget setting and manage the delegated budget accordingly. Maintain the department according to hospital and department policies within the budget available.
Lead in the complaints management process, participate in the Trusts Risk Management process, and ensure the clinical area undertakes an annual risk assessment with actioned outcomes. Establish systems for monitoring quality standards, auditing services, risk management, and handling complaints. Ensure specialised procedures and protocols cover all aspects of care within the ward and are readily available for staff.
Be flexible with working hours to facilitate smooth unit operation. Promote innovations and changes to improve clinical services. Be an active member of the multi-disciplinary team and coordinate staffing resources for effective cover. Plan staff off-duty with appropriate skill mix and cover sickness or absence with temporary staff. Maintain records of staff sickness and annual leave and manage disciplinaries, grievances and capability issues per Trust policies. Coordinate recruitment, selection and deployment of all staff grades.
Qualifications and ExperienceEssential
Current NMC Registration
Minimum 2 years'' Band 6 experience
Minimum of 12 months experience in staff management
Mentorship and preceptorship skills and experience

Established relationships with the MDT; good interpersonal and proven communication skills
