Open up opportunities with HPE.Job DescriptionWe are seeking a senior technologist to join the Security Lab in HPE Labs. This is an opportunity to define a research agenda and lead research projects with the objective of building advanced security capabilities for HPE products and customers. The Security Lab conducts foundational security research for HPE products and services in collaboration with business units, partners and the open-source community. Our current projects include confidential computing, post-quantum cryptography, security of AI and applications of AI to security.Location and Team : HPE Labs is an international research organization with its headquarters and largest facility in Milpitas, California. The Security Lab is based in Bristol, UK, focusing on technical leadership, innovative problem solving, and building robust prototypes.Responsibilities

Define and drive the research agenda within the Security Lab.Lead research projects aimed at building advanced security capabilities for HPE products and customers.Design systems and solutions, own the implementation of significant components, and develop product-ready prototypes to test and demonstrate ideas.Collaborate with business units, partners, and the open-source community to advance security capabilities.Provide technical leadership and mentorship to peers and junior researchers.Education and Experience

PhD (or equivalent research experience) plus 10 or more years of experienceTrack record of innovation driven into productsExperience as a technical leaderSkills

Application of AI to security or security of AIExcellent knowledge of system security techniques and principlesStrong implementation skills with experience in Python, Rust, C, or GoExcellent knowledge of computer architecture, operating systems and networkingExcellent written and verbal communication skills; mastery in EnglishComfortable presenting to executives, technologists and customersExcellent analytical and problem-solving skillsExcellent leadership skillsCollaborative team playerAdditional Skills
