Senior Safety Engineer

Locations: Portsmouth or Frimley Join a leading advanced engineering organisation delivering complex, technology-driven systems across safety-critical environments. This role offers the opportunity to work on large-scale, highly integrated programmes where product safety is central to design integrity and lifecycle assurance. As a Principal Product Safety Engineer, you will work within a Product Safety discipline, supporting Technical Authorities in ensuring systems are designed, assessed, and delivered with safety as a primary consideration. You will lead on hazard identification, risk assessment, and the development of robust safety cases across major subsystems and complex technologies. You will be responsible for developing and maintaining structured safety arguments supported by appropriate assurance evidence, ensuring hazards are systematically identified and risks are reduced so far as is reasonably practicable (SFAIRP/ALARP). The role spans the full engineering lifecycle, from concept and design through to delivery and in-service support.
