Senior Revenue Controller

Our client is a leading international law firm seeking an experienced Senior Revenue Controller to take ownership of revenue performance across a key business division.

This is a high-profile role partnering closely with senior stakeholders, including Partners and Department Heads, with responsibility for driving billing, WIP, cash collection and overall financial performance across the division. The role will also oversee and support a small team, providing day-to-day direction, coaching, and leadership.

Key responsibilities include:

• Taking divisional ownership of revenue, WIP, billing and credit control performance.
• Overseeing and managing a small Revenue team, providing guidance, coaching and support.
• Acting as the senior finance contact for Partners, Department Heads and fee earners.
• Leading monthly billing forecasts, WIP reviews and revenue analysis.
• Driving the resolution of aged WIP, outstanding debt and potential problem accounts.
• Overseeing the end-to-end billing process, including write-offs, credit notes and VAT/Solicitor Account Rule compliance.
• Providing commercial insight and reporting to senior Finance leadership.
• Challenging and influencing stakeholders to improve billing and cash collection performance.
• Identifying opportunities to improve processes, controls and revenue performance.
• Supporting the development and performance of team members across the wider Revenue and Pricing function.

About you

We are looking for an experienced revenue professional with a strong background in revenue control, billing, and credit control, ideally gained within a professional services or legal environment.

You will be commercially minded, confident dealing with senior stakeholders and comfortable taking ownership of a business area. Previous experience of managing, supervising, or mentoring a small team is important, alongside strong analytical skills, attention to detail and the ability to challenge constructively.

Experience with Elite, Aderant or similar legal finance systems would be advantageous.
