Complete key domestic duties on a day-to-day basis to maintain a homely environmentEncourage development of individual interests and attitudes by planning, organising and participating in activitiesPromote, safeguard and protect the welfare of each young person in accordance with Working Together to Safeguard Children 2018; assess individual needs and contribute to care and risk plansEstablish and maintain positive and trusting relationships with the young peopleManage behaviour positively and assertively in line with care and risk management plansConsult with young people to promote a healthy lifestyleMotivate and assist young people in developing and sustaining positive networks with adults, peers and familiesParticipate in the development, implementation and review of packages of care through team meetings and supervisionAttend, and where necessary advocate for, the Young Person in child care reviewsAll applicants must have
Understanding and commitment to the role, which is 24/7, including weekends and bank holidays; sleep-in duties as part of a flexible rotaExperience of supporting young people who may be vulnerableAbility to work on own initiative with a high level of accuracy and maintain clear, neat recordsGood interpersonal skills and be a positive team playerComputer experience to an intermediate levelAbility to complete daily records to meet statutory and policy requirementsEmpathetic natureGood oral and written communication skills in a variety of contextsAbility to engage, motivate and encourage young peopleBenefits
