Overview
Reporting to the Water Cost and Commercial Lead for the UK, the Senior Quantity Surveyor role involves delivering work with water companies or the Environment Agency in the Midlands area, predominately, with the opportunity to work in consultancy roles in the North West of England. There will be opportunities for progression across the UK water, environment, and nuclear sectors.As a Senior Quantity Surveyor, you will have knowledge and experience in pre- and post-contract management in NEC 3 or NEC 4 ECC and procurement within the UK water, environment, or nuclear sector. You will use your major project experience to drive efficiencies, practical supply chain engagement, and contract management.You will also have experience with Early Contractor Involvement (ECI) and/or Early Subcontractor Involvement (ESI) in design and build major capital programmes.We will fully support your personal growth and development, enabling access to full RICS training courses, a path to chartership, or help you develop your career to the level you want. GeneralNEC3/4 Option A, Option C, Option E ECC contract management and administration on the client sideBudget controlPayment valuation and assisting the PM in payment certificationActual cost forecasting and Defined Cost determinationEstablishing and maintaining productive and collaborative relationships with relevant internal and external stakeholdersEnsure appropriate commercial records are maintained in line with the contract requirements and oversee any contractual issuesPre-ContractFeasibility studies and cost planningPreparation of tender documentationEvaluation of tendersRisk managementPost-ContractManagement and administration of construction contracts, ensuring compliance with contract termsCost control and valuationEvaluation and negotiation of change orders or variationsClaims and dispute resolutionFinal accounts and post-project evaluationQualifications
Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Quantity SurveyingFull membership of a chartered body such as RICS or a substantively progressed APC pathwaySubstantial post-graduate experience in Rail, Nuclear, Water and/or Environment sectorsLine management and recruitment experience of Quantity Surveyors or Assistant Quantity SurveyorsCDM regulation knowledge and experienceRisk management experienceValid CSCS card; Water Hygiene Card desirableExperience working for main contractors and/or joint ventures client-sideSite presence and co-location minimum 3 days a weekExperience using the NEC3-4 suite of contracts (A-C-E)You must have the right to work in the UKLocation: West Midlands-based (4 days at the client''s office and 1 day working from home)Client interview/acceptance may be requiredAdditional Information
