Quantity Surveyor / Senior Quantity Surveyor

Location: Central London or Camberley, Hybrid
Salary: £50,000 - £80,000 depending on experience

An established consultancy working across the UK infrastructure and civil engineering market is looking to appoint a Quantity Surveyor or Senior Quantity Surveyor to join its growing commercial team.

The business supports major contractors and infrastructure clients across a range of civil engineering projects, providing commercial and quantity surveying expertise throughout the project lifecycle. 

This is a excellent permanent opportunity suited to a Quantity Surveyor with a strong main contractor background particularly working on AMP8 contracts, who is looking to move into a consultancy environment while continuing to work closely with major contractors and complex infrastructure projects.

The Role
Depending on your level of experience, responsibilities will include:

  • Providing commercial and quantity surveying support across civil engineering projects
  • Managing costs, valuations, variations and change throughout the project lifecycle
  • Preparing and reviewing applications for payment
  • Supporting cost forecasting, reporting and commercial performance
  • Managing subcontractor accounts and commercial documentation
  • Reviewing contractual requirements and identifying commercial risks
  • Supporting the management of compensation events and change
  • Working closely with clients, contractors and wider project teams
  • Ensuring projects are commercially managed in line with contractual requirements

What We''re Looking For

  • Previous Quantity Surveying experience within a main contractor environment is essential
  • Strong civil engineering or infrastructure project experience
  • Experience working with NEC contracts
  • Water sector experience would be advantageous, although candidates from wider civil engineering backgrounds will be considered
  • Experience working with amended IChemE contracts would also be beneficial
  • Strong commercial and contractual understanding
  • Ability to communicate effectively with contractors, clients and project stakeholders

The position operates on a hybrid basis, typically with three days per week in the office, with opportunities available from either Central London or Camberley.
