The Role

As the Senior Quantity Surveyor / Commercial Lead, you will take commercial responsibility for a significant section of a major -80m project in Cardiff Bay, working closely with the Project Director and wider commercial team to ensure successful financial delivery from start to finish.

This is a highly visible role that offers the opportunity to influence project performance while developing your career within an expanding contractor that continues to secure prestigious projects across the UK.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the commercial management of a substantial package on a major construction project.
• Manage project budgets, forecasts and cost reporting.
• Oversee procurement and subcontractor management.
• Negotiate subcontract agreements and final accounts.
• Administer contracts and manage commercial risk.
• Prepare valuations, variations and payment applications.
• Monitor project performance against financial targets.
• Build strong working relationships with clients, consultants and subcontractors.
• Mentor and support junior commercial team members where appropriate.

About You

You''ll ideally have:

• Experience as a Senior Quantity Surveyor, Commercial Lead or Senior Commercial Manager.
• Proven experience delivering large-scale construction projects for a main contractor.
• Strong knowledge of commercial management, procurement and contract administration.
• Excellent negotiation and stakeholder management skills.
• Experience managing project costs from pre-construction through to final account.
• Degree qualification in Quantity Surveying or a related discipline (preferred).
• Membership of RICS or working towards chartership is advantageous but not essential.
