Senior Quantity Surveyor

The Opportunity

Sphere Solutions are recruiting an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to join an established construction business delivering a major residential development in Bristol.

The project comprises multiple apartment blocks, with reinforced concrete (RC) frame construction and extensive external envelope and finishing packages. This is an excellent opportunity for a commercially experienced QS to take ownership of the commercial delivery of a substantial, multi-storey residential scheme.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage the commercial performance and cost control of the project.

• Procure and manage subcontractor packages.

• Prepare valuations, applications for payment and cost reports.

• Manage subcontractor accounts, variations and change control.

• Monitor budgets, forecasts and cash flow.

• Negotiate and agree subcontractor final accounts.

• Identify commercial risks, opportunities and potential cost savings.

• Work closely with the Project Manager, site team and wider commercial department.

• Maintain accurate commercial records and reporting.

• Support the successful delivery of the RC frame, apartment blocks and external finishing works.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Senior Quantity Surveyor within construction.

• Strong main contractor or specialist contractor commercial background.

• Experience working on large residential or multi-storey apartment developments.

• Knowledge of RC frame construction and external envelope packages.

• Strong subcontract procurement, negotiation and financial reporting skills.

• Ability to manage commercial responsibilities independently.

• Excellent communication, organisation and commercial awareness.
