Senior Quantity Surveyor - SPA

Overview

Mott MacDonald Bentley are recruiting for a Senior Quantity Surveyor to join the Strategic Pipeline Alliance (SPA). The 330km Strategic Pipeline Alliance (SPA) Project by Anglian Water is under construction and will be completed during AMP8. Beyond this we have a further 260km of water transfer pipelines and associated infrastructure to be delivered in AMP8.What will you be doing as our new Senior Quantity Surveyor?

As our new Senior Quantity Surveyor, you''ll act as the commercial conscience to the integrated delivery team, providing commercial support to both the delivery management and on-site delivery teams. Ensuring that operations are carried out to control costs, maximise value, minimise future liabilities and maintain the required standard of quality and safety, you''ll also oversee the full compliance with the Alliance and Anglian Water governance procedures on a consistent basis.Key responsibilities

Ensure the SPA alliance is provided with both accurate cost and value reporting and forecasting to mitigate adverse financial impactsEnsure effective capture of costs and ensuring all costs are allocated appropriatelyEnsure effective, efficient and robust processes and systems are employed to identify, report and escalate commercial risk, such as early warning notices, to ensure appropriate mitigation is implementedAssist the Commercial Manager in determining the operational commercial reporting requirements of the alliance and work with the Performance Reporting and Systems team and Finance to ensure they are accurate, meaningful and timelyLead the identification of cost reduction opportunities and provide support to help stakeholders realise themCreate and own appropriate commercial forums with stakeholders to ensure prudent commercial management and compliance with the governance of the allianceA Little Bit About Your Skills, Experience And Behaviours

Quantity Surveying Degree or equivalentExperienced in delivering large scale projects including civil, mechanical, infrastructure and non-infrastructure type workHave an awareness of NEC3 forms of contractPrevious experience working in a complex matrix team environmentExcellent data analysis and reporting skillsProven experience of Quantity Surveying with relevant professional qualification e.g. RICS, CIOB, ICEExperience using SAP e.g. Finance, Procurement, ALMPrevious experience drafting construction contractsA valid driving licence and willingness to travel to sites across your operational regionWe are looking for extraordinary people who want to help create a place where everyone can thrive.
