RGB Recruitment is working with a well-established and growing construction contractor to appoint an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor. This is an excellent opportunity to join a successful regional business with a strong pipeline of work across the Southwest. The company delivers a varied range of high-quality construction and refurbishment projects for clients across both the public and private sectors.
Working closely with the senior management team, you will take commercial responsibility for several projects simultaneously, ensuring they are procured effectively, managed commercially and delivered in line with financial expectations.
The Role
As Senior Quantity Surveyor, your responsibilities will include:
- Taking commercial responsibility for multiple construction and refurbishment projects.
- Managing projects from procurement through to final account.
- Reviewing and administering contractual documentation and commercial terms.
- Procuring, negotiating and managing subcontractors and suppliers.
- Preparing and agreeing client valuations, variations and final accounts.
- Monitoring project costs, cash flow, risks and commercial opportunities.
- Producing accurate monthly cost reports and forecasts through to completion.
- Supporting operational teams with commercial and financial reporting.
- Building and maintaining strong relationships with clients and the supply chain.
- Providing support and guidance to junior members of the commercial team.
- Assisting with estimating or wider pre-construction activities where required.
About You
We are looking to speak with experienced Quantity Surveyors who have:
- A proven background within the construction industry.
- Experience managing the commercial aspects of multiple projects simultaneously.
- Strong knowledge of procurement, subcontract management, valuations and final accounts.
- The ability to confidently manage project costs and produce accurate forecasts.
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
- A proactive and commercially focused approach to work.
- The ability to work both independently and as part of a collaborative team.
