The Company

Our client is a successful and growing residential developer delivering high-quality housing schemes across the South Coast. Due to continued growth, they are looking to appoint a Senior Quantity Surveyor to join their commercial team.

This role offers an opportunity to take on greater leadership responsibility, supporting the wider commercial function while working closely with operational teams on live developments and future projects.

The Role

The successful candidate will be responsible for the commercial management of residential developments while also playing a key role in supporting the wider team and contributing to business performance.

Key duties will include:

• Leading and chairing commercial meetings.
• Attending and contributing to all Cost Value Reconciliation (CVR) meetings.
• Participating in bi-weekly construction meetings.
• Reviewing and monitoring commercial and operational KPIs.
• Mentoring and supporting junior commercial team members.
• Tracking procurement activities and ensuring packages are progressed on time.
• Providing wider commercial and operational support to site teams.
• Assisting with the commercial review and mobilisation of new developments.
• Working closely with senior management to support business objectives and project delivery.
• Managing project costs, valuations, variations, and financial reporting.

About You

Applicants should have:

• Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor within the residential construction or housebuilding sector.
• Strong commercial and financial management skills.
• Experience managing multiple projects and stakeholders.
• Confidence leading meetings and presenting commercial information.
• The ability to mentor and develop junior members of a team.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• A proactive, adaptable, and hands-on approach.
• A passion for construction and a desire to play a broader role within the business.
