Senior Quantity Surveyor

Excellent career opportunity for a motivated and ambitious Senior Quantity Surveyor to join superbly run civil engineering contractor working on a major civil engineering project in Suffolk near Felxstowe

This role offers an excellent opportunity to develop commercial and contractual expertise whilst working on a large-scale infrastructure scheme.

The Senior Quantity Surveyor will take a leading role in commercial management, whilst being responsible for contract administration, change management, subcontract management, commercial reporting -and will help drive commercial performance, manage risk and maximise project value.

Responsibilities of the Senior Quantity Surveyor

• Lead the commercial management of allocated work packages
• Maintain accurate records of project costs, value, commitments and liabilities.
• Prepare and review monthly Cost Value Reconciliations (CVRs), forecasts and commercial reports.
• Monitor project performance
• Identify commercial risks, opportunities and improvement initiatives.
• Contract Administration & Change Management
• Clams & Entitlement Management
• Assess the commercial impact of changes, delays and disruptions.
• Support the preparation, negotiation and agreement of claims and final accounts.
• Manage subcontractor and supplier procurement activities.
• Financial Management & Reporting
• Identify, assess and manage commercial and contractual risks.
• Develop and maintain positive working relationships with clients, consultants, subcontractors and suppliers.
• Provide guidance and support to Quantity Surveyors, Assistant Quantity Surveyors and Commercial Administrators.

Ideal Requirements of the Senior Quantity Surveyor

• Degree qualification in Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management, Civil Engineering or a related discipline.
• Significant experience as a Quantity Surveyor within the civil engineering, infrastructure, energy or construction sectors.
• Knowledge of NEC, FIDIC or other forms of contract.
