Senior Quantity Surveyor - Heavy Civils

Freelance Quantity SurveyorLocation: Dewsbury Sector: Civil Engineering Highways and Rail 12 month Contract - 400 - 450 per day (CIS or LTD Company) We''re working with a civil engineering contractor to recruit a Freelance Quantity Surveyor to support delivery across two live infrastructure projects - a major relief road scheme (4 days per week) and a rail project (1 day per week). This role requires a commercially strong QS with hands-on experience in deep drainage and heavy civils, capable of operating independently across multiple workstreams. The Role You''ll be responsible for managing the commercial aspects of both projects, with a primary focus on the relief road scheme, ensuring strong cost control, subcontract management and NEC contract administration. The role will involve close collaboration with site teams, Project Managers and the supply chain to ensure works are delivered efficiently and commercially sound. Key Responsibilities Full commercial management of deep drainage and civils packagesPreparation and management of CVRs, forecasts and cost reportingSubcontract procurement, negotiation and managementAdministration of NEC contracts, including compensation events and change controlValuation of works and preparation of applications for paymentManagement of variations, claims and final accountsMonitoring project costs and identifying risks and opportunitiesLiaising with site teams to track progress and ensure accurate reportingSupporting both highways and rail ..... full job details .....
