Job Title: Senior Quantity Surveyor (Freelance)

Location: Central London & Stansted Airport
Contract Type: Freelance Contract (Outside IR35)
Rate: £400.00 – £450.00 per day

Company Overview

We are recruiting for experienced Senior Quantity Surveyors to support the delivery of works within an Asset Intelligence team for a leading Tier 1 contractor.

These roles sit across two key projects within high-profile environments, offering exposure to complex M&E, security, and infrastructure-related works. This is an excellent opportunity to join a well-established team delivering critical upgrade and maintenance projects across major UK assets.

The Role

As a Senior Quantity Surveyor, you will play a key role in the commercial management of projects across two locations: Central London and Stansted Airport.

This is a hands-on role requiring strong NEC contract knowledge and the ability to operate within a Tier 1 environment. You will be responsible for managing commercial processes, supporting project delivery, and acting as a key interface between the contractor, subcontractors, and client.

You will work closely with operational and delivery teams to ensure projects are commercially controlled and delivered successfully.

Key Responsibilities

• Administration of NEC forms of contract
• Full lifecycle change management
• Commercial management of subcontractors
• Acting as the key interface with the client, including meetings and reporting
• Supporting the commercial delivery of projects within agreed budgets
• Monitoring project costs, valuations, and financial performance
• Collaborating with operational teams to ensure efficient project delivery
• Providing regular commercial updates to senior stakeholders

Key Requirements

• Proven experience operating as a Senior Quantity Surveyor within a Tier 1 contractor environment
• Strong working knowledge of NEC contracts
• Experience managing subcontractors and commercial processes
• Ability to confidently engage with clients and stakeholders
• Background in infrastructure, M&E, or asset-focused projects is advantageous
• Strong commercial awareness and ability to manage multiple workstreams
