Senior Quantity Surveyor

Freelance Senior Quantity Surveyor based in Northampton The Senior Quantity Surveyor will support the Project Director in delivering a new build student accommodation, ensuring effective cost control, procurement strategy, and commercial management across all stages of the project lifecycle. Senior Quantity Surveyors key responsibilities Commercial and Cost Management Prepare and manage project budgets, cost plans, and forecasts Undertake cost reporting with clear variance analysis Manage cash flow forecasting and cost value reconciliation (CVR) as required Track and control project expenditure against approved budgets Procurement Lead the procurement of subcontract packages from pre-tender to award Prepare tender documentation, pricing schedules, and scopes of work Analyse tenders and make commercial recommendations Negotiate terms with subcontractors and suppliers to achieve best value Ensure packages align with overall procurement strategy and programme Contract Administration (JCT) Administer contracts under JCT forms (e.g., Design and Build, Standard Building Contract) Manage variations, instructions, and change control procedures Prepare and assess interim valuations and final accounts Handle payment applications, notices, and certifications Support dispute avoidance and resolution in line with contract provisions The Senior Quantity Surveyor will have: Minimum of 5 years proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor Strong working knowledge of JCT contract suites ..... full job details .....
