Our client, a renowned firm in the construction sector, is currently seeking a Senior Quantity Surveyor to join their dynamic team in Dublin. Specialising in high-profile critical infrastructure projects, our client offers an engaging and stimulating work environment for experienced professionals.
Key Responsibilities:
- Track project deliverables and ensure the utilisation of commercial and administrative systems, budgets, and cost control procedures
- Manage commercial teams to ensure successful project delivery and oversee the commercial planning and implementation
- Conduct in-depth reviews of all tender documentation to identify risks or potential gains
- Review and approve selected contractors and suppliers
- Ensure contractual correspondence aligns with contract terms, including detailed analysis and documentation of EOT notifications and claims
- Continuously monitor projects to ensure they remain on time and within budget
- Assist in managing the definition of project scope, goals, and deliverables
- Prepare reports on actual costs versus estimates, highlighting variances and providing solutions
- Present reports to define project progress, identify problems, and propose solutions
- Ensure clients meet their objectives through proactive cost control and contractual advice
- Ensure subcontracts reflect agreed scope and compliance, including responses to communications, payments, and programme submissions
- Ensure all project team members understand contractual arrangements to meet client and partner requirements
Job Requirements:
- Bachelor''s Degree in Quantity Surveying & Construction Economics or an equivalent degree recognised by SCSI and/or RICS
- Experience in quantity surveying
- Proficiency in developing and maintaining strong client relationships
- In-depth knowledge of various forms of contracts used in the construction industry, such as RIAI, FIDIC, and JCT
- Strong commercial acumen and understanding of market trends and competition
- Excellent negotiation and conflict resolution skills
- Keen attention to detail and ability to critically evaluate documents
- Ability to build and maintain client and PQS relationships
